UP2 Roast beef Recipe

 Introduction

I would like to introduce how to make roast beef．Roast beef is one of the traditional British dishes. I tried my hand at making homemade roast beef for the first time last Christmas.

Materials: 400g beef thigh (chunk), 1 clove garlic, 1 teaspoon salt, a pinch of black pepper (coarsely ground), 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil

For the sauce: 2 tablespoons mirin (sweet cooking rice wine), 2 tablespoons sake, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, 1 tablespoon sugar, 2 teaspoons granulated dashi

1.  First, sprinkle the meat with salt and wait.

2.  Wipe off any water that comes up on the surface of the meat with a paper towel.

3.  Stab the meat in several places with a fork.

4.  Season with salt and pepper and rub in well.

5.  Rub grated garlic over the surface of the meat.

6.  Mix the measured seasonings.

7.  Put the seasoning mixture and meat in the Ziplock and place in the refrigerator. Wait one hour.

8.  Remove from refrigerator and leave in room for 30 minutes

9.  Remove the meat from the bag and cook on all sides until cooked through.

10.  Remove the liquid from the bag and heat it.

11.  Place  boil water  and the browned meat and heated sauce in the bag again.

12.  Put boiling water and a ziplock with meat in the rice cooker. After adding, press keep warm and wait 40 minutes.

13.  After 40 minutes, remove from rice cooker and finish.

This recipe only calls for one sauce, but you can use a variety of other sauces, such as onion sauce or gravy made with red wine. If you are concerned about the redness of the meat, you can also increase the length of time the meat is in hot water to ensure that it cooks well. When I made this dish, I used a seasoning called Maximum instead of salt. It was very tasty and tasted different from the ones sold in the store. Some people may think roast beef is a time-consuming dish, but it is very easy to make, so please give it a try!
